I have loved comics since I was a child. My Dad had a collection of over 10,000 comics that would make most comic book store owners weep. Thor #1. Spiderman #16. First appearances of Silver Surfer, Wolverine, Cable, Deathlok, and ROM. Not to mention the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, Avengers, Hulk, Batman, Superman, the JLA, and more. I spent many years researching the craft of comic book writing before I finally put the pen to paper and began to write my own stories. My present projects:
I wrote this script way back in 2004. It was a simple coming of age superhero tale written like a psychological thriller. A studio recently contacted me about revising the script so that it can be fully drawn and ultimately published. I am presently updating the script and giving it more of a sci-fi edge (think “Alien Nation” meets “Back to the Future”). This project will take place in the same universe as my current Tempting Fate Chronicles fantasy series, just not necessarily in the same era.
A supernatural thriller I worked on during my time in film school. The first few chapters are written and some preliminary artwork has been done. I’ve put the project on hold for the time being, but this story will take place in the same universe as my Tempting Fate Chronicles fantasy novel saga, just not necessarily in the same era. It takes place in modern day Chicago and follows the tales of a nearly unstoppable creature designed for destruction who begrudgingly seeks after redemption. In the meantime, he assists with helping a young boy discover his legacy-to claim his right by birth as an heir to Merlin. But time is running out. The fate of the world hangs in the balance. And their conflicting personalities may be the undoing of us all.
I was blessed to have a series of 3 comics strips published by Infuze Magazine many moons ago. It is my wish to one day revive this nutty series. Only time will tell if that happens. Insanity 101 is essentially a look into my twisted, sarcastic, crazy world that exists inside my head. If that isn’t enough to scare you away I don’t know what will.
